I've always felt vacations were too precious to waste reading a bad book. In 2005, with this in mind, I emailed a group of friends and asked for book recommendations for my upcoming beach vacation. Their suggestions were so thoughtful, I put them in a list and recirculated to the group. It became an annual thing, and after a few years (thanks to my clever reader friends) it became ... a thing thing.

Toni Morrison said, "if there's a book you want to read ... you must write it yourself." I heeded her advice, and in 2019, I sold my own "great book for the beach." Haven Point will be on the shelves in June, 2021.
